Energy

How it's defined

One kilowatt of power sustained for one hour: exactly 3,600,000 joules. It is power × time — the most commonly misread pairing in any utility bill (a kW is a rate; a kWh is an amount).

1 kWh = 3.6 MJ — exacta 10 W bulb for 100 h = 1 kWh
